Last week we saw the return of the Affiliated House Chess competition. Cubitt and South won 4-3 in a nail biting final against North and West.  In the well-supported event, there was a tense and excitable atmosphere throughout with many close contests catching the eye, most notably on the top board where Ali C. had to be at his very best to defeat Oliver H.  Ultimately with the scores tied 3-3 it all came down to thrilling finale on the final board with Callum Q. just overcoming a very spirited rearguard effort from Felicity H.
