On Tuesday this week, 45 Lower Fifth artists travelled with their teachers to Tate Modern to view the collection displays.

Students loved the variety of the work on display, from contemporary pieces by George Condo, Peter Doig and Magdalena Abakanowicz, to work by modern masters like Rothko, Matisse, and Picasso. Teachers were impressed by the Cranleighian’s interest, hard work and positive response. They finished the day with a brisk walk back to the coach over the Millennium bridge in the afternoon light.
