On Saturday June 8th, 29 Cranleighans were selected to compete for the Waverley Athletics team at the Surrey Schools competition. Although it was a long day for many, our athletes performed superbly against some incredibly tough competition.

Overall, it was a successful day: lots of personal bests were set, two school records were broken (Anathleticsgus Young, 3000m, 10.19.44; Tabitha Bowden, 1500m, 5.05.53), and many certificates and a number of medals were won. Particular congratulations go to Emily Thorpe who won the Junior Girls’ Long Jump, and she has been invited to compete for Surrey at Basingstoke this coming Saturday. Well done to all athletes – you certainly did Cranleigh proud!
