Our U14 girls team were delighted to return from the National Hockey Finals, held at Cannock Hockey Club on February 29th, with medals for achieving third place in the competition.

After narrowly losing their first match to Clifton College (the eventual winners) 2-3, they did not lose another match.  Wins against Trent College and Hymers in the round-robin stage earned the girls a place in the 3rd/4th play-off, where they came up against their old rivals St George’s College.  The match was a draw after full time, but the Cranleigh team won the flicks decider (which went to the sudden death stage), after a nail-biting climax to the competition for all spectators and players.

A fantastic achievement for the team, our first ever girls’ representatives at the National Finals.
