Cranleigh School

At Cranleigh, we understand the unique challenges that come with military life. That’s why we’re committed to providing a stable, nurturing environment where your child can thrive. Our close-knit boarding community, exceptional academic standards, and strong pastoral care ensure that every pupil feels at home, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.

Based on 2025/2026 fees, new families who receive the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) will pay just 10% of the full boarding fees, subject to availability of places. We’ve detailed below the discounted amounts that new, eligible Armed Forces families receive:

Please note that this discount is conditional upon receipt of the CEA on or before the first day of term. Those military families who do not qualify for CEA funding should follow the normal bursaries process.

A stable, nurturing home

Wherever duty takes you, Cranleigh offers your child stability, warmth and belonging.

Our close-knit boarding houses, dedicated pastoral teams and strong sense of community create a true home-from-home for service families.

Weekend activities

Cranleigh ensures that there is a wide range of exciting trips and on site activities at weekends which are often suggested and selected by the pupils themselves.

Our pupils have enjoyed trips to the London Eye, Go Ape, Matilda in the West End, Guildford Escape Rooms, and the much-loved Hogwarts in the Snow tour. On site, pupils enjoyed pizza making, pottery painting, indoor laser quest, and a lively Colour Run on the Lowers fields.

Academic excellence and opportunity

Cranleigh combines academic rigour with individual attention, ensuring continuity and success for every child – from the classroom to university and beyond. At a glance, our A-level and GCSE results highlight the outstanding achievements of our pupils:

  • For A-level, 83% of grades were A* – B, with 43% of students achieving two or more A* or A grades.
  • For GCSE, 76% of all grades in English, mathematics and science were graded 9-7, and 72% of all grades were in the 9-7 range.

Additionally, with our Futures Programme in entrepreneurship, AI skills and workplace-focused electives, we prepare young people for life – not just exams.

Space to grow – in every sense

Nestled in the Surrey Hills, our 280-acre campus gives pupils the freedom to explore, lead and discover their passions.

From sport and music to outdoor adventure, Cranleigh builds confidence, character and independence – qualities that last a lifetime. Sport is for everyone here – whether you’re in the A team or the F team, all pupils take part and develop a lifelong love of being active. For those on elite pathways, we offer expert coaching and have produced top athletes, including professional cricketer Ollie Pope. In the Performing Arts, students stage high-quality productions – including at Wimbledon Theatre – with standout achievements such as a National Theatre Award for Best Actress in The Girl on the Train.
