On Thursday June 27th, Cranleigh U14 Boys’ cricket team beat Trinity School, Croydon to become the winners of the Surrey Schools’ U14 Anderson Cup.  On a difficult wicket to bat on, openeU14A Cricket.NEWSrs Freddie Austin and Lewis Bedford did an excellent job to record an opening partnership of 70 and were well supported by Ed Tristem as Cranleigh posted 152/6 in 35 overs.  After an assured start by Trinity in their run chase, the Cranleigh bowlers progressively piled more pressure on their opponents’ batsmen and eventually dismissed them for 132 to record a 20 run victory.

This win means that the side will go forward to represent the county in the U15 English Schools’ Cricket Association competition in 2014.  It caps off a remarkable season for this team, who have won 13 from 14 matches.  Mr Allison and Mr Trivedi, the team coaches, have thoroughly enjoyed working with a group of such talented, competitive, and pleasant boys.
