Cranleigh jazz ensemble, played to a packed audience on Friday 20th June in the Merriman Music School. The band, under the direction of saxophone tutor John Sandford, comprised Noah Frett (trumpet), Tom
Cooper (alto saxophone), Harrison White (double and bass guitar), George Wilkinson (piano and electricSimply Blue guitar), Cameron Scheijde (drums) and guest vocalist Zoë Dixon on vocals.  The music was an eclectic mix of jazz standards, funky rhythms and melodic ballads and was interspersed with some outstanding improvisational playing by all concerned. The enthusiastic applause at the end showed that the band’s hard work was not wasted!
