The British Sculptor Barbara Hepworth’s exploration of interior spaces was the main attraction for the Lower Fifth’s recent trip to Tate Britain. This superb show had a wide range of her work fromHepworthatTate2015_01 mixed media drawings to the most impressive 1950’s tropical wood carvings. The Lower Fifth took the opportunity of the fine weather to draw for a few minutes by the river before sketching and making notes in the exhibition. Tate’s ‘A walk through 500 years of British Art” also provided excellent opportunities to see artists’ work that fell within the current project theme of ‘Places and Spaces’.
