Lavinia Harrington, Art Historian from ‘The Bigger Picture’, inspired our Lower Sixth artists and Classicists in a lively workshop this week. The subject explored was the tradition of the figure in Western Art from the Ancient Greeks to the Impressionists. Classicists were able to see more clearly the wider picture of their studies in Greek sculpture, while artists learnt about the traditions and ideas associated with figure work.
