Yesterday Cranleigh Voices, the School’s chamber choir, under the direction of Philip Scriven, had the honour of singing Evensong in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

This adds to an impressive list of cathedral invitations in recent years which have included St. Paul’s, Salisbury and Chichester Cathedrals.

The choir were on top form singing Clucas Responses and the anthem “O Lord, the maker of al thing’ [sic] by Joubert. The Canticles (Dyson in F) included confident and well-shaped solos by Philippa Lock (soprano) and Joshua Wilson-Khanna (baritone).

For Joshua, along with Freddie Coates, also a Sixth Form member of Cranleigh Voices, the visit was particularly nostalgic as they were both choristers at St. George’s Chapel prior to winning Music Awards to Cranleigh.
