The BTEC Sport students were invited to tour the Arsenal FC training centre and meet the nutritionalist and lead sports scientists.
The tour was organised by OC Nick Read (Loveday 1992) who is the Commercial Director at Vitality, a leading health insurance company with sponsorship links in a number of different sports (including Arsenal FC).
Nick did a presentation on Vitality and the work that they do in promoting wellness as well as their involvement in sports sponsorship and then the students had a guided tour around the training facilities. We ended the visit with a Q&A and we got a really good insight into how a professional footballer prepares for match day.
The BTEC Sport qualification is relatively new at Cranleigh and links with the sport industry such as this one with Arsenal are growing all of the time.
