This summer has seen Pippi S. and Ben G. represent their country in the Home Nations tournament. The tournament was played over three weekends with double headers against each of the other home nations. Ireland, Scotland and Wales all played under 19 sides in the tournament whilst England stuck to under 18 sides, both with a significant number of under 17s in their squads.

Starting off in Edinburgh, Pippi’s team won 2-0 and 1-0, the second being a tight encounter, with England holding on at the end. Ben’s team recovered from a 1-4 defeat in the first game to draw 2-2 in the second match.

Pippi picked up a small injury thus missing the Ireland matches in Lilleshall in which England lost 0-1 and drew 1-1. Meanwhile, Ben was on rotation with two other keepers so not involved in the 3-2 win and 1-5 loss.

The final round of matches against Wales under 19s was at Millfield and although Pippi scored in the fourth minute of the first game, they went on to lose 2-3, before winning the second match 2-1. Ben’s team lost the first game 0-1 but finished off the series with a resounding 6-1 victory.

Congratulations to both of them and we look forward to seeing them play in school matches once again next term.
