Cranleigh school are delighted to welcome back Mr Harry Barlow, who will be joining the Schools rugby coaching staff for 5 weeks after half term. Harry, who plays both centre and wing, left Cranleigh to join Harlequins and has since signed professional terms with the New England Free Jacks in the American MLR professional league.

Harry has had an array of success since leaving Cranleigh, including becoming a member of the Rosslyn Park sevens double winning side in 2016 and 2017, to then playing in England U16, U18 and U19 international rugby.

This October, Harry will be playing various international matches before returning to the school for the final five weeks of the Michaelmas Term. After that period, He will return to professional rugby.

Harry will coach the 1st XV alongside Mr Rob Hardy, whilst I continue to coach the lower school groups, as well as the 1st XV.

I am delighted that Harry was willing to come back to School and help our boys. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, but also understands the culture we have here at Cranleigh. He is highly respected by all and I know the pupils are excited to have him on board. We are fortunate to have such a close relationship with our former pupils, and this season we have had a number of the professional players coming back to run positional specific sessions for our current pupils. We talk a lot about being part of something greater than just ourselves and for the former players to give up their time to keep giving back to the School is a real testament to their characters.
