On Saturday 7th December the Design Engineering department hosted a VEX Robotics National Qualifying Event. There were 16 visiting teams from across the country and also a guest team, Alanya Robotik who travelled all the way from Turkey as part of their study tour! The Cranleigh Robotics team 18650G got off to a flying start winning all three of their first matches, a brilliant start in their first ever competition.

The morning qualifying session continued to bring great success as the team completed the qualification matches ranked 5th overall. Heading into the knockout rounds with their alliance partners, the Cranleigh Team managed to progress all the way to the Semi-Finals, narrowly losing out to the eventual tournament champions. A fantastic day of high-level, action packed robotics was had by all and the team are very much looking forward to their upcoming tournaments early next term as they bid for qualification to the National Finals.
