Fourteen cadets from Cranleigh CCF took part in a parade to mark the 25th anniversary of the Princess of Wales’s Royal regiment at the Kent County Cricket Ground. We were part of 150 cadets from across the South east who were present and were inspected by Brigadier Stokes, Lance Sergeant Johnson Beharry VC and Colonel Crowley.

Having paraded off, we then watched the regular and reserves soldiers march on, be inspected and presented with their new colours which were then blessed by the Regimental Padre.  An address was then made by the Danish Ambassador to Great Britain, who took the place of the Queen of Denmark, who unfortunately could not make the parade due to illness.

The Regiment has strong links with Denmark and Queen Margrethe II assumed the role of Colonel-in-Chief upon the formation of the Regiment. It was an honour to have taken part in such an amazing event and something I’m sure none of us will forget.
