To end the Lent Term, we are sharing some of highlights which were told in the end of term assembly:

Football

The football season has been outstanding across all senior levels. The 1st XI delivered another remarkable performance, advancing to the ISFA Semi-finals. For the third consecutive year, the squad has reached two finals and one semi-final—an achievement we can all be incredibly proud of. A key highlight was the victory at all levels—1st, 2nd, and 3rd XI—against Charterhouse last week. Across the board, all teams won or drew more than half of their matches, with the 3rd XI boasting an impressive record of seven wins out of eight games. Charlie Elkington’s outstanding contribution of 14 goals in just six matches for the 3rd XI deserves special mention. The 2nd XI also played some thrilling football, finishing the season with a remarkable +24 goal difference after eight matches.

Netball

The netball season saw record participation, with more girls than ever playing and teams fielded across all age groups from A to F. The 14A’s had an exceptional season, culminating in a victory at the Guildford High School tournament last week and second place on Saturday at the Charterhouse tournament, where they triumphed against a range of schools that play netball for two terms.

The 15C’s were also undefeated, winning all seven of their matches and winning gold in the tournament last Saturday as well. At the same time the U14C also won gold in their tournament over the weekend. Impressively, the 15B through to F teams won over 85% of their collective games. The 16A team had a strong season, with a standout performance at the Charterhouse tournament, where they finished third, defeating several first and second teams from other schools. The senior teams showcased exceptional depth, with the 3rd and 4th VII remaining unbeaten throughout the year—an incredible achievement. The 1st VII also enjoyed a strong season, highlighted by their runner-up finish at the Charterhouse tournament and a fantastic mid-week victory against Tormead in front of a great crowd.

Hockey

The boys’ hockey team enjoyed some exceptional results, with the 1st XI taking top honours at the prestigious St George’s Sixes. Their victory saw them go unbeaten across eight matches, including a thrilling semi-final win via shuffles, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 final victory. The team also reached the last eight of the Tier 1 National Championships. Both the 3rd and 4th XIs performed admirably throughout the season, with the 4th XI earning particular praise for their away victory at Bradfield two weeks ago. The 15B team were outstanding this year as well as the U15D who won all their matches. In fact, all U15 teams combined for an impressive win rate of over 80%. The U14’s improved immeasurable across the term with a number of players new to the sport. The 14A and 14B highlighted their improvements with a 2-1 and 3-0 win this weekend against Eton.

The girls’ 1st and U16A teams also had strong finishes to their seasons, with the 1st XI’s 4-2 victory over Brighton in their final match standing out as one of the best performances of the year across the whole school.

This term we have seen a number of pupils excel and be selected for international sport teams. To have so many across the school at International level is truly a remarkable achievement, so very well done to them and all those who have helped and supported along the way.
