In what is the second stage of getting to the National Finals, both the under 18 and under 16 Girls became Surrey champions earlier this week. The under 18s beat an effective Epsom side 3-0 in theHockey Girls U16 Surrey finals 2015_21530 semi-final of their competitions before getting into our stride and putting 7 past our regular opponents at this stage, St George’s to win the title.

The next day our under 16s withstood an early onslaught from a feisty Reigate side to go into half time of their semi-final 2 up, before coming out as 5-0 winners.  TheyHockey Girls U16 Surrey finals 2015_21520 too met St George’s in their final and were pitted against many of the players they came up against in the under 14 national final last season; on a very slippery pitch, Izzy Petter put away a penalty stroke in the first half to put us ahead. We played really well in the second half and Coca Hall slotted in a rebound to seal a 2-0 win. I’m sure there will be a rematch or two at some point later in the competition!
