Sunday 1st May saw 300 members of the Cranleigh Community taking part in a 10 / 20 mile charity walk to raise money for the ‘Beyond Cranleigh’ project, with a further 40 staff members supporting the logistics of such a significant event. Pupils, parents, family friends, teaching and bursarial staff and OCs walked through some breathtaking Surrey countryside in weather that couldn’t have been more ideal.
The spirit of fun and camaraderie during the day was a credit to all who took part, as is the fundraising total which continues to build day by day. At the time of writing over £15,000 has been donated, with many more pledges yet to come in. All those who took part can look back on the day with happy memories and a sense of pride, both at what they achieved on the day and the huge difference to people’s lives the money they are raising will make.
The ‘Beyond Cranleigh’ project is to build a community school in Kitwe, Zambia, providing education, meals and medical support for 220 students as well as salaries for staff. If you would like to find out more information, or to make a donation, please click on the ‘Donate Now’ button below.
