Our Dance programme has expanded in the last few years and is now a central part of our co-curricular offering in Performing Arts. Our new Dance studios opened at the start of the academic year 23-24, increasing our studios to three dedicated spaces across our two campuses.

Dance at Cranleigh Senior School is an exciting and vibrant part of our growing arts provision, designed to inspire creativity, self-expression, and confidence in every pupil. With a brand-new, state-of-the-art dance studio at its core, the department provides an exceptional space for pupils to explore a wide range of dance styles, including contemporary, classical, and modern fusion genres.

Our comprehensive programme celebrates the joy and discipline of dance, offering pupils the opportunity to collaborate with guest teachers from the professional dance world throughout the year. Pupils have the chance to showcase their skills and creativity in a variety of school performances, from dedicated dance showcases to high-profile senior school productions. The department also plays a key role in supporting Cranleigh’s acclaimed Drama Department, contributing choreography and performance expertise to stunning musical theatre productions.

For those pursuing GCSE Dance, the department offers expert guidance and tailored support, allowing pupils to flourish in both choreography and performance. Individuality and artistic ambition are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that every pupil is empowered to reach their full potential.

Dance at Cranleigh is more than a subject—it is an exciting and enriching journey that nurtures talent, builds resilience, and inspires a lifelong love for the performing arts.

Dancers have the opportunity to perform in a range of formal and informal shows across the academic year, including specialist shows, joint performing arts shows and cabaret evenings.
