After the first four matches (on October 7th and 14th) the way is clear for a North-Cubitt clash in the final with a Thompson twin on each team.

The girls’ Houses failed to repeat some of their victories of recent years so the semi-finals saw East and a strong Loveday team (with excellent juniors) go through. Loveday gave Cubitt a good contest but North were in imperious form and their score of 810 was considerably more than the total scored by both teams in each of the first round matches. North even converted five of their 28 correctly answered starters into bonuses despite the fiendish difficulty of most of those third follow-ups.

PJL welcomed TIMW as the new (and second-ever) quiz-master, following the retirement of Alan Smith, and sizeable audiences filled much of the ALT to applaud the School’s GK specialists.

The final is on November 7th at 5.25 pm.
