On Thursday May 17th the School swimming team had a surprise visit from Olympic-team swimmer Marco Loughran. As a former team-mate of our head of swimming (David Hailey), the GB backstroker famous for his impressive backstroke start took a couple of hours out of his busy training regime to run a ‘dynamic-starts’ clinic for our team swimmers.

The boys and girls each spent a few minutes with Marco where he was happy to answer questions on technique and how he managed to fit his busy training schedule around school, a scholarship in Australia and later around his studies at Florida University. The swimmers are now raring to see Marco’s 200m Olympic backstroke on Wednesday 1st August!
