On Monday Dr Aric Sigman came to Cranleigh to talk to the L5th pupils on the ‘The Facts about Alcohol’ as part of their PSHEE programme. Dr Sigman is a Fellow of the Society of Biology, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He spoke to the L5th less about anti-social binge-drinking, liver disease, drink driving or rehab, but the consequences of underage drinking on the development of the brain. Dr Sigman kept the year group engaged for a full hour using medical research and evidence along with engaging possible outcomes to get the message across of the dangers of drinking. This was not the first time Dr Sigman has spoken at Cranleigh and it certainly won’t be the last.
