Following their success at the Dragon’s Den in November, Cranleigh’s Young Enterprise teams attended a Trade Fair, the Y Factor, at RGS Guildford last night, giving all the local companies a chance to exhibit their products or service, talk about their brand, their company ethos, their financial plan, targeting and market research. This is just one of the events run annually by Young Enterprise to allow for these fledging companies to gain experience from
seeing how their competitors are working as well as receiving some brutally honest, but valuable feedback and advice from the judges.
Young Enterprise’s vision aims to give young people the opportunity to, “gain experience of how business works, understand the role it plays in providing employment and creating prosperity, and be inspired to improve their own prospects and the competitiveness of the UK”.
Cranleigh’s OriOri , represented by Will Mundy, Matylda Buczkowska and Chris Oldfield won The Peoples’ Vote for Best Exhibition Stand as well as scooping 3rd Prize (out of 18 companies across West Surrey) from the judges for Best Young Enterprise Exhibition Stand. This company won a prize at the Dragon’s Den in November too and they will be hoping to repeat this success at the Regional Finals on 18th March, which will be hosted by Cranleigh in the Emms Centre.
The Mayors of Woking, Guildford and Waverly were there to give out the prizes alongside Carolyn Townsend.
