On Sunday 12th November Cranleigh School’s Symphonic Wind Band took part in the annual Remembrance Sunday service in the village, providing music before the ceremony as well as hymns and mood music during the laying of the wreaths.

Despite the threat of rain and frosty temperature, the band performed excellently, producing a warm, rich and well balanced sound that received many compliments from the congregation.

Of particular note was Louis Jenkin’s (Lower Sixth) trumpet role in providing the Last Post and Reveille. This is a nerve racking experience for any trumpeter and Louis, as were the whole band, was a credit to the School.
