It has been a busy summer for Cranleigh hockey players as they continued with their sport outside of school. Pippa Lock continued her progress in the Senior Womens Development programme including a trip to Belfast and a 1-1 draw with Ireland. Amy Thompson is joining her at the camp this week for the first time.

Harry Gough and Taylor Seager-Green played for England U18 Boys over the summer whilst Rosie Hope played for the England U16 Girls and Izzy Petter and Millie Regan for their U18 counterparts. The Euros took place this summer with both Izzy and Millie getting a Bronze.

The Futures Cup, the domestic competition that concludes the year-long performance centres for the best young players in the country, saw Cranleigh represented in all four categories. Sean Hope and Siena Keijsers in the U15 Boys and Girls respectively. Freddy Esplen and Olly Witts in the U17 Boys. Laura Graham, Coca Hall and Rosie Hope were in the victorious Wessex Leopards team, with Laura and Coca scoring in their opening game, and Rosie scoring a 1-on-1 penalty during the shootout in the final to win the Gold.

Richard Organ, Director of Hockey, said “We’re obviously very proud of these athletes and we look forward to seeing their continued development and achievements over the next few years.”
