The Cranleigh spirit has been thoroughly evident and at work during lockdown! Many Cranleighans have taken the opportunities to raise money for charities who are struggling at the moment due to increased pressure and reduced income.
Tallulah Partridge raised £410 for Justice and Care by doing a 25km walk during lockdown, and North house raised about £1200 for Disability Challengers and Bowel Cancer UK.
Rhodes families raised £1364 for Refuge, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Beyond Ourselves. South families also undertook the 2.6 challenge in May; a special mention must go to the Kamm family who ran the equivalent of a marathon, as a family relay. Their target was to run this in under 4 hours — they finished in 3 hours 45 mins and ran a few PBs. They raised about £400 for GOSH.
Finally a huge well done to Bryn Spender who ran 10k every day for nine days over half term, raising £1105 for Beyond Ourselves, an amazing achievement.
