Yesterday saw the Bottom Courts here at Cranleigh School alive with activity as we hosted the U13 Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) Regional Qualifier.

16 teams travelled to us for the day, some from as far as Rochester, Kent and Wimbourne down in the South West. The variety of opponents made for some fantastic netball with the girls battling it out in pool games in the morning ready to be seeded into Plate and Cup knockout competitions in the afternoon.

The knockout competition in the afternoon did not disappoint with quarter final netball for all 16 teams. The winners progressed through to semis with those in the Cup competition securing a place in the National Finals. The finals were fought out between Highfield and Brighton College in the Cup and Danes Hill and Windlesham in the Plate.

The final standings of the day can be found below. We wish the top 4 teams (Highfield, Brighton College Prep, Westbourne and Kings’ Rochester Preparatory) the very best of luck at National Finals, taking place in March in Ipswich. Go well, we look forward to following your progress!

Finally a huge thanks to the dedicated staff members and coaches that brought the teams along, as well as umpires who allowed the netball to be played to a really high standard. Lastly the girls themselves for working so hard throughout the day and putting out some fantastic netball. We look forward to hosting the U11 competition in a few weeks time.

Final Standings

  Cup Plate
1st Highfield Windlesham House
2nd Brighton College
3rd King’s Rochester City of London’s Freeman School
