Sophie M. has had a very successful start to her Summer holidays as she competed in the British Summer Swimming Championships this week. She swam both 100m and 200m in the competition following qualification earlier this year.

First up on Sunday was Sophie’s strongest event, the 200m Breaststroke. She won her heat by several metres while breaking the West Sussex county record as she swam. In the final she swam a personal best finishing 8th, placing her in the top ten swimmers in the country.

Sophie travelled back to Sheffield on Thursday to compete in the 100m Breaststroke after qualifying for the national competition for the first time. She finished 18th in the event which puts her in the top 20 in that category.

Sophie said it was a “great experience and a huge event to swim at.” Well done Sophie, we’re very proud.
