Earlier this week Old Cranleighan and Commonwealth Gold Medalist Izzy Petter came back to Cranleigh to unveil her very special Golden Gateway plaque representing where her golden journey started.

In August, Izzy won Gold at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as part of the Women’s Hockey team. This is in addition to her success at the Tokyo 2020 Olymipcs where she won Bronze with Team GB.

As a result of their success at Birmingham 2022, Team England decided to install Golden Gateway plaques in celebration of athlete’s success and we are delighted to have been selected by Izzy to represent her journey to success so far. On Tuesday 20th September Izzy was met by fellow Olympic medalist and her former coach Mr Steve Batchelor, Cranleigh’s Assistant Head (Liaison) to unveil her plaque.
