Sophie M., Upper Sixth, had a brilliant Easter break after becoming the Open swimming county champion in all her individual events. Sophie swam in the 400im, 200im, 200m breast, 100m breast and also made up a part of the county winning 4×100 medley relay.

Sophie then qualified for the Aquatics GB swim championships, this year’s Olympic trials.

In the 200m breastroke, she achieved a personal best by 2 seconds and therefore set a County record and secured a spot in the B final, finishing 14th overall after heats. This was an open age event and sees some of the best swimmers in Britain compete.

In the 200 IM, she took two seconds off the previous time which meant she went from mid-70s to 34th in the country.

In the 100m breast she finished in the top 50, in a competitive field.

Congratulations Sophie!
