On Tuesday morning, we held our fifth annual Organ Outreach event, and were delighted to welcome a group of pupils from Feltonfleet School to enjoy listening to and playing the wonderful Mander organ in the Chapel. None of the pupils had played an organ before, most of them being pianists who were clearly enthusiastic to “have a go” on the instrument.

After an introduction and short demonstration from Mr. Scriven, each of the children took it in turn to play their prepared piano pieces on the organ, and to discover what a totally different feel and character the two instruments have. The Chapel organ has a terrific reputation both locally and nationally, and it is always a joy to see the looks of pleasure and surprise on the faces of visitors who come and play it for the first time.
