Green Dragons Winners’ Knepp Visit
On Friday 1st May, our Green Dragons winners visited the Knepp Castle Estate. As a world-renowned rewilding site, Knepp provided an inspiring setting for a guided safari tour. Students learned about regenerative agriculture and encountered incredible wildlife, including the first beavers to be rewilded in Sussex, nesting storks and a slow worm. We are grateful to Ryan and the Knepp Wildland Foundation for their continued support.
Cranleigh Nature Trails
Fourth Form pupils have begun work on our new nature trails during Outdoor Ed sessions. This long-term project links the ancient “CCF woods” through Millennium Copse to Gatley’s Pond. Pupils are learning vital skills in woodland management, ecosystems and toolwork, creating a natural legacy for the whole school to enjoy.
Charity Donations
During the ‘Big Give Earth Rise’ week, we raised funds for ten environmental charities, including:
- The Bridge Institute “She Changes Climate” appeal
- Energy Sparks
- The Ashdown Forest Foundation
- Sussex Green Living
- Commonwork Trust ‘Youth Need Nature’ campaign
- The Orchard Project
- The Tree Council
- Interclimate Trust: Youth COP 31
- Better Planet Education
- Knepp Wildland Foundation
