From Cranleigh’s beginnings as the Surrey County School, the School has benefited from a rich history of philanthropy. In 1862, a committee of 16 men pledged over £800 (equivalent in today’s money to £95,553) for the founding of the School. The photo above shows the Founders’ windows, some of which are in the School Chapel corridor and the remainder are in the dining hall. Each window features the crest of one of the Founders.
Today, Cranleigh Giving incorporates our volunteering and fundraising activities. Our vision is to support the School’s ethos of service and leadership by turning privilege into action and harnessing community support. We aim to offer opportunity for all. Together our community offers time, expertise, resources, as well as life-transforming opportunities for children.
