Henry Taylor has been selected for the England U18 rugby union side for the international against Ireland in April. Henry becomes the fourth player in four years to represent England at that age group from Cranleigh School.

Henry actually made the England side last year and has captained the School’s 1st XV this season. Henry is also part of the EPDG academy at Harlequins and has represented the first team at sevens earlier on in the year. Henry joined Cranleigh aged 13 years-old from St John’s Beaumont in Berkshire.

Andrew Houston, the Director of Rugby at Cranleigh, paid tribute to Henry and the other Cranleighans who have gained international honours in rugby. “It is amazing that a School of only 400 boys has helped produce so much in the last ten years: nine school-boy internationals, of which seven have gone on to represent their country at student or U20 internationals and one achieving full international level. It is testimony to all the coaches, the boys themselves and a set-up that enables them to reach their potential. We all wish Henry the best of luck and hope this is a further step closer to representing the full England side in the not so distant future.”
