Our History

Cranleigh is proud of its heritage. From its roots as a community school launched in 1865 for the sons of local farmers, through to the international family of co-educational schools it has become today.

We have retained our 280 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside and remain a friendly boarding school; it is still true that each individual member of our community knows each other. Our ethos still seeks to fulfil the aims of the School’s founders in encouraging Cranleighans to look beyond themselves to make a difference to the society in which they live and work.
