Charlie Piper (LVI, East) has become the tenth player in as many years to be selected for the England U18 rugby team from Cranleigh. This also means that we as a School – for the third year in a row – have a boy playing at that level.

Charlie was a key part of a very successful 1st XV season in the Michaelmas term, and he has helped the Sevens squad win two trophies already this season in the Lent term. Charlie, although still only under-17, has been playing and training (as well as four other Cranleigh boys) with the Harlequins elite academy as well this season.

The selection is doubly impressive as Charlie will be playing for both England U18 and England U17: an amazing achievement. The U17 game is this Sunday against Georgia’s U18s in Coventry, and Charlie will be playing for England U18 against Ireland U18 in April. We all wish him well.
