Between 28 March and 2 April, 28 fifth form Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation pupils toured the greatest sites of Ancient Greece. Their journey took them from Athens, via the oracle at Delphi to Olympia where they had a chance to race on the very stadium where ancient athletes once competed. Greece3

They then journeyed to ancient Mycenae, home of King Agamemnon, Epidauros, where they saw the best surviving ancient Greek theatre, and Corinth, the site of Medea’s tragedy and a key city for St. Paul. Just before the flight back they had the opportunity to visit the temple of Greece2Poseidon at Sounion, which is engraved with Lord Byron’s name.

With lots of Greek food, some Greek dancing, and lots of beach time in the sun, the trip was great fun for all.Greece4
