It has been a busy summer for the rugby players within the School. Pre-Season fitness has started, with players from all age groups and abilities training alongside each other. Away from this group, a number of current pupils have been training at playing for Harlequins.

The School had five pupils (David Ofori, Will Trenholm, Ollie Barrow, Toby Tyson and Oscar Beard) play at the recent U16 EPDG academy tournament. Alex Harmes has been training with London Irish as well. Alongside that, Harry Barlow won a silver medal at the youth commonwealth games in July. He and five others (Hugh Tizard, Jamie Barden, Sam Davies, Sam Lubbock and Hayden Hyde) have been training with Harlequins U18 throughout the summer.

Andy Houston, Director of Rugby, said “Its great that so many pupils have come in this summer to train so hard, and is inspiring that so many want to get better and all abilities are pushing each other along. Its obviously great to have so many boys playing at various academies, winning youth commonwealth games medals and the school being nominated for RFU awards, but the real story are those C and D team players who are working so hard to improve. Fingers crossed that all teams enjoy the forthcoming season”.
