The rugby season finished with a flourish on Saturday and ended a year in which so many teams and pupils have done themselves proud.

In the 2017 calendar year, the 1st XV have gone unbeaten in the XV’s season (for only the fourth time in our 101 year history), retained the HSBC Rosslyn park sevens title and been nominated as one of the top five rugby schools in the country for the second year in a row.

Five seniors have represented Harlequins at U18 level. Five U16s have represented Harlequins or London Irish at academy level. Two pupils have been training with England U18, one pupil has represented Ireland U18, and Harlequins 1st team have also trained at the School.

We won 62% of all our matches played with the following boys being awarded their 1st XV colours; Stingemore, Mitchell, Gook, Tizard, Carr, Richardson, Canham, Serjeant, Barlow, Barden, Wilkinson and Hemming.

Twelve out of the 17 teams finished with a win ratio above 50% including: U16A,B,C; 1st; 2nd; 3rd; 4th; 5th; U15; U14A; and U14B.

The junior team of the season was U16A who only lost one game throughout the season and pulled off impressive wins against both Tonbridge and Epsom.

It’s been a great season and most importantly a really enjoyable one. The pupils have really got stuck in it and I am very grateful to all staff who have put so much into it. The seniors have really lead by example and have set a great benchmark for which all our year groups should aim.
