85 pupils completed their Bronze expedition training this week, in preparation for their assessed expedition. On the Sunday afternoon, the groups practiced their packing and cooking skills as well as learning key skills in first aid, navigation and route planning. We were fortunate with the weather and despite some rain whilst putting up tents and a chilly night, the groups woke to a glorious sunny morning.

After breakfast they packed up and undertook a 10km walk in the Surrey Hills. There were definitely some navigational challenges but everyone learnt a huge amount and remained in good spirits throughout.

A huge thank you to all the staff and sixth form students who gave up their time to train and supervise the participants . We are looking forward to a successful assessed expedition later this term.
