Throughout the month of August, seven Upper Sixth boys (six North and one East) shaved their heads as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘Brave the Shave’ campaign. They participated in the shave in support of another pupil in North who has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer known as neuroendocrine carcinoma.  The idea to raise money for Macmillan cameShave about as he is being treated at the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre in London.

The initial fundraising target was £2,000, but they have blown this out of the water thanks to generous donations from a variety of people now totalling more than £4500.
