During the Easter break, a number of our Hockey players competed internationally.

Matt H. played for England U16s in Glasgow, captaining the team in their game against Scotland. They started with a 1-5 loss against the ever strong Dutch team. The next day saw them play against France but the opposition were successful on the counterattack and so, won 3-2. The French team however had lost to Scotland the previous day, so England needed to beat Scotland by 3 goals to earn another shot at the Dutch team in the final. England raced into a 3-0 lead, eventually resulting in an excellent 9-2 victory. The return match against the Netherlands was a much closer contest, with the score 2-2 halfway through the third quarter, however the Dutch team scored 3 more goals to win 5-2.

Over in Holland, Daisy M. and Zach D. were playing for their respective UK Lions teams. Both were playing in one of two pools of four teams, with the top two sides forming the final Cup pool. Daisy’s team won their tournament and Zach’s team were runners-up.

Well done to all!
