This Tuesday we celebrated our partnership with Kawama Community School in Zambia. Rev Lewis kicked off the morning in Chapel with a thought-provoking Zoom interview with Jodie Collins, the Director of Beyond Ourselves. Jodie explained the origins of the partnership and the importance of looking ‘beyond ourselves’ to the wider issues of the world.

Pupils and staff across the School enjoyed a mufti day and the team that were unable to go in October half term did an amazing job of icing over 200 cakes in Zambian colours! A big thanks to the catering team for the great food and decorations in the Dining Hall.

All the money raised will go directly to supporting children at Kawama Community School. Next week is the Big Give and from 1st to 8th December, any donations given through the Big Give to Beyond Ourselves will be doubled! This is a fantastic opportunity to make your money go further and this year all donations will go towards furthering the Jolly Phonics programme in Zambia. Jolly Phonics is a very effective way to help children to read and write and will lay the foundations for educational success for thousands of children across The Copperbelt.
