Netball is the main sport for girls during the Lent term. The School’s two indoor and eight outdoor courts, all of which have been surfaced to the highest specifications, are centrally located on two sites within the main school. The courts are a hive of activity every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoon, when more than 170 girls are either training or involved in a full programme of fixtures. We run a total of eighteen teams, which includes four senior teams, four U16 teams, five U15 teams and five U14 teams. Sport for all is a crucial part of our ethos so competitive match play for all of these team is what we strive for. The majority of the matches take place on Saturday afternoons but will also include some weekday fixtures in order to find the best opposition for our range of abilities. As well as taking part in inter-school fixtures, the top teams in all age groups take part in county competition where we regularly reach the final stages.
The schools coaching team is led by Sian Parry but there is a wealth of experience in the coaching team including an ex-international player, Sally McLaughlin, and international coach and current Surrey Storm NPL head coach, Emma Blackmore. In addition to this we regularly invite guest coaches to come and work with our teams.

She has been coaching on the England Netball Excel pathway since 2007 and has been working with the Surrey Storm National Talent League (NPL) Squad as Team Manager since 2010. Before joining Cranleigh Sian was working for the Youth Sports Trust as a Sports Coordinator and School Sports Netball Coach; during these three year posts she worked with over fifty schools to improve the quality of Netball and the coaching they were receiving.
