Despite our team being decimated by the L5th D of E expedition (!) our riders put up a strong showing at the Surrey County Championship Show at Great Bookham this weekend.

Our Mini team of Sam and Issy Hollidge, Lila Millard and Lily HIbbert won the Surrey County Championship against some strong opposition with excellent clear rounds from Sam, Issy and Lily.

Our Novice teams had mixed fortunes but in a huge class finished in 4th (Issi Rennocks, Caileigh Faure, Sam Hollidge and Phoebe Wates) and 6th (Lily Hibbert, Lila Millard, Sam Hollidge and Poppy Bathurst) respectively.  Our Intermediate team of Tom Lane, Issi Rennocks and Henrietta Walker-Duncalf also finished in 4th, our team of just three riders being narrowly pipped by St Catherine’s for the Surrey title on time.

Our Dressage team was the team of the day, however, taking the Surrey County Championship and also qualifying for the National Championships in October.  Charlie Johnson rode two beautiful tests to finish 3rd and 4th in her two classes and give a real demonstration of the potential of this new partnership.  Phoebe Wates rode the other Prelim test and Henrietta Walker-Duncalf (6th) and Tom Lane rode the two Novice tests.

Next weekend our riders travel to Bury Farm for a National Show Jumping Qualifier.
