West House UVth Formers Charlotte Calnan and Megan Batchelor have been selected to play for the England U16 hockey team on more than one occasion in the next few weeks.
Their first match will be against Scotland in Edinburgh during the weekend of the 27-29th of June, meaning that neither of them will be present to receive their Speech Day prizes for Excellence in Sport. From 4-7th of July, Charlotte (who captained the side in their last game) will travel to the Beerschot Hockey Club in Antwerp where the England team will take on Belgium. They will both then take part in the Five Nations competition at Beeston Hockey Club from the 14-19th July when their opponents will be Germany, Spain, Holland and Belgium.
