Safety Training and First Aid Lead

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Safety Training and First Aid lead to be responsible for the Health and Safety training and First Aid provision for Cranleigh School and Cranleigh Prep School and in addition, run and manage effectively additional training courses where possible commercially run.

Duties will include maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring continuous training and improvement in many areas of health and safety in conjunction with current legislation and guidelines; ensuring all Risk assessments are carried out and up to date; training First Aid at Work and Manual Handling training site-wide (including Rugby first aid); ensuring all First Aid equipment is kept up to date and appropriately stocked; and acting as a first responder, providing First Aid when necessary and in the Community on agreement with the school.

The post requires flexibility to suit the varying nature of timings of possible training courses. It is expected that the average number of hours will be around 15 – 20 per week, for 34 weeks of the year. This is likely to be mainly during the School term time, but will also include some weeks outside of term time. Further details will be discussed with candidates selected for interview.

There is a regular commitment to work on Saturday afternoons during the Michaelmas term (September to December inclusive) in support of the School’s rugby programme.
