Theatre Technician

bursarial Full time Closing date: 7 June 2024

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Theatre Technician (Full-time, Term-time), with a bias towards Sound Engineering to assist the Theatre Manager with providing technical support for drama, music and wider school events.

Cranleigh School takes great pride in its productions; the Music and Drama departments across both schools give students the best opportunities to perform on and off the stage. Production types range from plays and musicals to concerts and house events which happen at a level unrivalled by many other independent schools.

The Theatre Technician will work at both Cranleigh School and Cranleigh Prep School in any of the three theatres or multiple performance spaces and rehearsal studios, providing support for school productions by delivering elements of set, stage lighting, live sound reinforcement, special effects and video projections.

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week and typically 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Working hours will require a degree of flexibility, particularly during production weeks.

We offer a supportive community environment, a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a wide range of non-contractual benefits including:

  • Bursarial School Pension Scheme
  • Complimentary lunch during term time
  • Free use of school gym
  • Free onsite parking
