Cranleigh were pleased to recently act as hosts for the Area Final of the SW Surrey Competition. Out of twenty five or so companies operating in the region, six entered the final stage. The overall winneryoung enterprise was SPARKS from Guildford High School with their Tastes of Surrey recipe book.  The recipes were supplied by local restaurateurs and chefs and celebrate local Surrey produce.  The judges were particularly impressed by their sophisticated marketing which embraced organisations like Wisley Gardens and the Surrey Hills Board amongst others.

Link Teacher and Area Board Member Richard Allon-Smith comments: ‘the Company Programme depends on the initiative and creativity of young people themselves. Each year there is a huge learning curve for those involved. Given the national economic situation it is of considerable  importance in this 50th Anniversary year of Young Enterprise to encourage them – using the YE slogan slogan- to ‘start something’.
