UVth_Tate14_01The art department has led three recent trips to London Galleries.  The upper fifth visited Tate Britain to gain inspiration for their exam project theme of ‘Order and/or Disorder’.  The lower sixth artists followed them to Tate Britain as well as visiting the two exhibitions currently on show at the Saatchi gallery. The upper sixth travelled to Tate Modern and the first day of the New Richard Hamilton Retrospective – listed as one of the top exhibitions to see in 2014. They also travelled to the Saatchi gallery.  The exhibitions both inspire and challenge as pupils see work first hand rather than through the increasingly usual lens of the computer screen; they worked hard filling sketchbooks with drawings and notes.
